Fushanosaurus qitaiensis
(Fushan Lizard from Qitai)Etymology
Fushanosaurus is derived from "Fushan" (for the Fushan Museum where its fossils are housed) and the Greek "sauros" (lizard).
The
species epithet,
qitaiensis, means "from Qitai" in Latin.
Discovery
The remains of
Fushanosaurus were discovered in the Shishugou Formation, in the Qitai area of Junggar basin, Xinjiang Province, China.
The
holotype (FH000101) is a right thigh bone (180 centimetres long).
