Choyrodon barsboldi

(Barsbold's Choyr tooth)Etymology
Choyrodon is derived from "Choyr" (a city near the Khuren Dukh locality where the fossils were discovered) and the Latin "don" (tooth) which is a common ending for ornithopod dinosaur taxa. The species epithet, barsboldi, honors Dr. Rinchen Barsbold, a leading dinosaur paleontologist of Mongolia and leader of the expedition that discovered the first remains of this species.

Discovery
The remains of Choyrodon were discovered in the at the Khuren Dukh locality in the Lower Member of the Khuren Dukh Formation, Dornogovi, Mongolia, by Rinchen Barsbold.
The holotype (MPC-D 100/801) is a partial skull, metacarpals and cervical ribs, belonging to a sub adult individual. Referred material includes MPC-D 100/800 (a partial skull, left sternal rib and a neural spine) and MPC-D 100/803 (a partial skull, shoulder girdle, left lower arm and hand bones, vertebrae, ribs, parts of the left hip, a right thigh and left shin).
