Erythrovenator jacuiensis

(Red hunter from Jacuí)Etymology
Erythrovenator is derived from the Greek "erythrós" (red or reddish) referring to the red colour of the holotype, and the Latin "venator" (hunter), referring to its predatory habits. The species epithet, jacuiensis, means "from Jacui" in Latin, referring to "Rio Jacuí", a river in Agudo where the holotype was found.
Discovery
The remains of Erythrovenator were discovered at the Niemeyer Site in red mudstones of the Candelária Sequence, which is part of the Santa Maria Suspersequence of the Paraná Basin, Agudo municipality, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
The holotype (CAPPA/UFSM 0157) is a partial left thigh bone.
