The most inclusive clade containing Herrerasaurus ischigualastensis but not Passer domesticus (House Sparrow).

Etymology
Herrerasauridae is derived from "Herrera" (for Don Victorino Herrera who discovered Herrerasaurus), and the Greek "sauros" (lizard) and "-idae" (family).
